Fran Núñez is a Chilean photographer based in Toronto, ON, known for combining photography, video, and creative techniques in her visual storytelling.
She started as a self-taught photographer, working with indie music media and developing a sharp eye for capturing the music scene. She studied Photojournalism at ALPES Escuela de Imagen y Comunicación in Santiago, Chile, graduating with high honors. This education helped her to explore personal and social stories through her work.
Her personal projects look at human experiences, capturing fleeting moments and deep emotions. Her "Imaginary Portraits" explore themes of femininity and identity, blending realism with an artistic and experimental style.
Fran has exhibited her work in Santiago, Berlin, and Italy. Her photography has been featured in LensCulture, Fisheye magazine, Photovogue, and Letargo, establishing her as an innovative photographer.
Beyond photography, Fran explores video poetry, mixing visual art with poetry. Her video works have been celebrated at festivals like Helios Sunpoetry FilmFestival, Cadence Video Poetry Festival, and International Art Film Festival.
She was a finalist in the LensCulture Black & White 2018 and participated in the Associazione Ottovolante residency program in Italy in 2018.
Through her art, Fran Núñez redefines visual storytelling, inviting viewers into a world where emotion, narrative depth, and aesthetic beauty come together to leave a lasting impression.
